Research proves its worth in real applications, and this theme tests our integrated drive technologies in demanding, sector-specific demonstrators. Each targets a setting where the benefits of integration, namely greater efficiency, lower weight and volume, improved reliability, make a decisive difference, and each pushes the technology in a different direction.

Section 2

In wind energy, we will focus on modular stator drive segments for scalable turbine applications, reducing nacelle weight and adding the redundancy that improves performance and longevity. In industrial systems, we are designing integrated drives for pumps, targeting one of the largest and most overlooked sources of energy waste. In marine and aerospace, we are exploring cryogenically cooled drives built for the extreme power density these sectors demand. For transport, we are developing ultra power-dense, highly efficient drives for the next generation of electric propulsion.

Across all of these, the demonstrators do more than validate the science: they generate the real-world performance data that builds industrial confidence and drives the wider adoption integrated drives need to make a genuine impact.
