Prof. Nick Simpson
University of Bristol
Nick is Professor of Electrical Machines at the University of Bristol and Head of the Electrical Energy Management Group.
His research focuses on advanced electrical machine design, metal additive manufacturing and multi-physics optimisation to enable high-performance, low-loss machines for electrification and Net-Zero applications.
He is the recipient of a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship and has led over £13M in research funding from EPSRC, Innovate UK and industry. He serves as Associate Editor for IEEE and IET journals and is an active contributor to international power electronics, machines and drives research and education.
